    How To Care For Your Mouth Guard

    • Once you have finished using your mouth guard, ensure you rinse it carefully with warm water and toothpaste. Make sure the water isn’t too hot though because this could warp the mouth guard. Let the mouth guard air-dry before you return it back to the case.
    • To ensure you don’t lose or contaminate your mouth guard, keep it in its case when you are not using it.
    • Disinfect your mouth guard with mouthwash on every fifth use to ensure it stays clean.
    • Children’s teeth grow and change a lot, which means mouth guards should be replaced every 12 to 18 months. For adults, mouth guards can last for many years, however, will need to be replaced if tooth lose or dental treatments are experienced.
    • Keep your mouth guard out of direct sunlight as heat can cause damage. Also avoiding leaving your mouth guard in hot places including closed cars or the car’s glove box.
